Smart glasses Oct 10, 2026 · by Dell

Rappers read lyrics off their phones. There's a fix.

Teleprompter smart glasses already exist. Nobody has pointed them at the booth.

Watch enough studio sessions and you'll see it every time: phone in one hand, mic in the other, eyes down on the screen. Same thing on stage sometimes. It works, but it looks like reading, and it costs you a hand.

The fix already exists

Smart glasses with a built-in display can put text right in your line of sight, and the people around you can't see it. They're sold as teleprompter glasses for presentations and speeches. Load your lyrics into the app, put the glasses on, and the words scroll in front of you: hands free, eyes up, nothing in your hand on camera.

The ones I'm looking at

  • RayNeo X3 Pro. Full-color display, AI built in, teleprompter tools. The most “tech shades” look of the bunch.
  • Even Realities G2. Looks like a regular pair of glasses. Scrolls your script on its own, by hand, or with its AI mode. Clip-on sun lenses turn them into shades.
  • Halliday G2. Discreet text in view, auto-scroll, invisible to everyone else.
  • Domars. Around $799 with teleprompter, display and translation.

Why shades matter

Nobody in the booth wants to look like they're about to read the minutes at a board meeting. There are three ways to get the shades look: lenses that darken on their own in bright light, premium lenses that tint on command, or snap-on clip shades, which are the cheapest. Walk in wearing what looks like your regular shades, lyrics scrolling the whole time, and nobody knows.

The stock angle

Most of these brands are private or don't trade in the US. The parts inside them do. Vuzix (VUZI) makes smart glasses and the waveguide optics that bend the picture into your eye. Kopin (KOPN) and Himax (HIMX) make tiny displays. Qualcomm (QCOM) makes the chips.

Qualcomm keeps showing up on every list I make: VR headsets, military gear, drones, and now glasses. When the same name confirms from four directions, I pay attention.

Demo coming

I'm getting a pair and putting it to the test in the booth. If it works the way I think, you'll see it on TikTok first.
